Austrian photographer Peter Mathis has been a sports and outdoor photographer since the mid-1980s. But Mathis is also known for his landscape shots, for which he prefers black and white. He spent between 2009 and 2012 in the Italian Alps taking pictures for his latest book about the Dolomites. DW accompanies him on one of his shoots.
