The Mubende coffee plantations and the bitter taste of eviction

In 2001, 4000 Ugandans in Mubende were forced off their land to make way for a coffee plantation owned by the Hamburg-based Neumann Gruppe. The military tore down houses and huts but local farmers protested the land grab and took the issue to court.
