The Panama Canal celebrates its 100th anniversary

The iconic waterway changed forever the way goods make their way around the globe since it was built a century ago.

Now the canal is being expanded to twice its size to make way for the current fleet of huge container ships. But the project is hitting choppy waters with delays caused by cost over-runs and competition from a new waterway in Nicaragua.
