People in the eastern german state of brandenburg are stepping up precautions against flooding. Authorities are preparing to declare a red alert over the next 24 hours after water levels along the Oder and Neiße Rivers rose faster than expected overnight. +++LM-REIN+++ In the border town of Slubice in Poland, across the river from Frankfurt-on-Oder, the mayor has asked all residents to leave by Friday.
