The Remarkable Trautonium Machine

The Trautonium is one of the first electronic instruments. It is famous for its sounds in the Hitchcock classic “The Birds”. Today, few people have mastered this instrument — the best-known is musician Peter Pichler.

When pathologist Andreas Nerlich goes to museums, he rarely has an eye for beauty. What he primarily sees are patients and their ailments — like leprosy or breast cancer. This special scientific discipline is called iconodiagnosis.

Olivia Trummer recorded her album "Like Water" without a band, using just a piano and her vocals. It was produced by Russ Titelman, who has worked with stars such as Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood and Randy Newman.

For some, a kitchen just serves a practical purpose, but for others it is a wonderful place where feelings, scents and languages blend. The “Kitchen Culture” exhibition shows how kitchen designers have reacted to societal changes over the past 100 years.
