The Russian parliament has confirmed Vladimir Putin as the country's new prime minister. A day after he handed over the presidency to Dmitry Medvedev, Putin was approved in his new job with a large majority. He said his administration would work to make Russia one of the world's economic leaders by 20-20. As his priorities, he named curbing inflation, tax cuts for the oil industry and increased spending on health and education.
