Conservationists are warning that the beautiful and unique Sumatran tiger is on the brink of extinction. WWF and TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network, are appealing to the Indonesian government and international community to take action to stop the illegal trade in tiger parts. This is forbidden under CITES, The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. The Sumatran Tiger also is listed by the IUCN, the World Conservation Union as in the highest category of threat.
