The UN Security Council has voted to call for an "immediate" ceasefire in the Gaza Strip leading to a "full withdrawal" of Israeli troops. Fourteen of the council's 15 members voted in favor of the compromise resolution - with the US abstaining. After two weeks of fighting, UN officials put the Palestinian death toll at 770, and are urging Israel to allow desperately needed food and medicine into the Territory. 10 Israeli soldiers have died during the operation in Gaza. Four Israeli civilains have been killed by Hamas rocket fire. +++MAZ+++
