The train is underway for eight months and the clinic operates daily.

Salamatty Kazakhstan was launched by the government to improve medical care in the country's sparsely populated regions. Some communities are hundreds of kilometers from the nearest hospital or clinic. The train's timetable is shared online.

In addition to medical staff, the train crew includes kitchen staff, stewards, and technicians. On its journey of around 20,000 kilometers, the train stops in numerous villages and small towns in the Kazakh countryside.

The film follows this unique social project, showing doctors and support staff as they form close bonds during the eight-month journey: working, eating and living together. Patients come to the clinic with physical ailments, but they also share their everyday worries.

The film offers a rare glimpse into this oil-rich Central Asian country. It gives viewers a sense of the respect and dedication at the heart of these special encounters between two very different worlds.
