In the world of quantum physics, space and time seem almost irrelevant. Could we soon build unimaginably fast computers? Plus: How can we detect deepfakes better? And just how smart are robotic dogs?

Researchers at the University of Oxford have successfully linked two quantum processors via a photonic interface for the first time. The modules entangle their atoms and produce identical measurement results, laying the foundation for scalable quantum computers. At the same time, a London-based network is demonstrating secure quantum communication: photons change when intercepted, making eavesdropping attempts immediately visible. Both developments mark important steps toward powerful quantum computing and a new generation of cybersecurity.
