A Stradivarius is much more than just a violin - it's a work of art. Three hundred years ago, the Italian master instrumentmaker Antonio Stradivari created the last of the stringed instruments that bear his name. And even though we have seen huge steps forward in terms of technology since then, modern science has never managed to duplicate the unique sound of a Stradivarius. The 650 or so instruments still around today are considered priceless. Tomorrow Today caught up with a violin-maker who also happens to be a physicist, and accompanied him for awhile in his search for what exactly it is that makes a Stradiviarius so unique.
