On November 27, people in Baden-Württemberg will vote in the state's very first referendum: on whether the state should cancel its commitment to co-financing the project.

Widespread opposition to the multi-billion-euro project to rebuild Stuttgart's main station helped the Greens and the Social Democrats win state elections in March. Their coalition government will be watching keenly how the referendum turns out.
