Triple bombings hit Tikrit
September 24, 2016Advertisement
Three suicide bomb attacks on a police checkpoint in Tikrit, Iraq, on Saturday have killed eight police officers, with some media outlets placing the death toll as high as 12.
As many as 23 people were also wounded in the attacks.
Tikrit is about 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of Baghdad. Iraqi forces retook the city from the so-called "Islamic State" (IS) in April 2015. No group has claimed responsibility for Saturday's bombings.
