Trump extends US-Iran ceasefire as talks remain on hold

US President Donald Trump has extended a fragile ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, while maintaining a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has given no indication that they are ready to re‑engage in peace talks.

Meanwhile, Iran says two ships were seized after attempting to cross through the Strait of Hormuz without authorization. Iranian state television reports the vessels were intercepted on Wednesday by the Revolutionary Guard and are being taken to Iran.
