Trump says he believes Hamas 'ready for a lasting peace'

Hamas says it supports parts of US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan — including the release of all Israeli hostages, dead or alive. Trump has urged Israel to halt its bombing campaign "immediately," claiming Hamas is ready for peace.

Explosions were reported over Gaza early Saturday, as uncertainty remains over whether Israel has scaled back its military operations. US President Donald Trump has urged Israel to stop the bombing, claiming Hamas is ready for peace and has accepted parts of his 20-point Gaza peace plan, including releasing hostages and transferring power. However, Hamas rejected demands for disarmament and foreign oversight. Israel reiterated its conditions for ending the war but did not address Hamas' objections.
