Tsunami hits Samoan islands: The scale of the disaster is still not clear and the death toll is rising with many people reported missing

Only a few hours before the earthquake off Sumatra there was a huge quake deep under the sea near the Samoan islands, which triggered a tsunami. Eyewitnesses reported that waves up to seven metres high hit the beaches, levelling everything in their path. Whole villages were destroyed. The scale of the disaster is still not clear and the death toll is rising with many people reported missing. +++SYN-MAZ+++
