Trade between the EU and Africa will be one of the topics on the agenda of this weekend's summit between African and European leaders in Portugal. Europe remains Africa's biggest trading partner and source of aid but China's growing push into the continent highlights Beijing's influence. And while western business leaders recognize the opportunities on the continent, many shy away from investment there because of red tape, corruption and mismanagement.
