Alan Posener is a commentator for the daily “Die Welt”. He believes: “Erdogan has lost the trust of the educated elites, but he is far from finished.”

And Laura Lale Kabis is an analyst for Turkish politics for the Berlin based think tank “German Council on Foreign Relations”. She thinks "The result of the local elections in Istanbul and other metropolitan cities indicate a shift in political conditions in Turkey."
