Turkish women turn backs to Erdogan

Women in Turkey are literally turning their backs to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in response to what they say are sexist comments. Photos of women's backs are now appearing across social media as a sign of protest.

With a set hashtag and a flurry of selfies posted across Twitter and Instagram, the social media action quickly caught on among women in Turkey. It is not the first time Turkish politicians' statements have ignited a social media protest campaign. In fact the photos of turned backs posted this week recall previous successful social media campaigns launched by Turkish women.
