Authorities in France have announced the arrest of two suspects believed to have stolen precious crown jewels from the Louvre museum. The brazen heist in broad daylight a week ago stunned the world. A swarm of investigators was mobilized to track down the thieves.

Burglars posing as maintenance workers exploited a blind spot at the Louvre on October 19, stealing €88 million in jewels — including Napoleon's gift to Empress Marie-Louise. Despite the daring heist, Paris police tracked suspects using citywide cameras and forensic evidence. Two men were arrested just before one fled to Algeria, but the loot remains missing.
