DW-TV has once again come away with awards from the 'International Festival of Professional Films, TV and Videoprogrammes' (Ekotopfilm 2002) in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Anne Hoffmann's film 'Greenhouse Earth - An Uncontrolled Experiment' won the 'Ekotopfilm 2002 grand prix', the main prize of the festival, awarded by the Slovakian government. Anne Hoffmann uses her film to explore global climate change, the greenhouse effect and their consequences for the natural environment. The 'Prize of the Slovakian Health Ministry' went to Andreas Neuhaus for the film 'Age shall not weary them - New Perspectives on Aging'. In his film Neuhaus elucidates the phenomenon of the rising ratio of old people in western populations and its socio-cultural and medical causes.

Anne Hoffmann (45) and Andreas Neuhaus (41) are freelance authors for DW-TV. Both are the winners of numerous film prizes and both were also honoured for medical and scientific films at last year's Ekotopfilm festival.
Annie Hoffman studied biology in Cologne, Andreas Neuhaus theatre studies and philosophy in Erlangen and Berlin.
