Typhoon Dolphin, the strongest storm to strike China this year, has caused severe flooding, transport disruptions and flight cancellations after making landfall in Zhejiang province with winds exceeding 150 kilometers per hour (90 mph).

Heavy rain inundated parts of Shanghai, forcing businesses and public transit to suspend operations.

Although weakened to a tropical storm, Dolphin continues to threaten central China with flooding and landslides.

The storm also intensified monsoon rains in the Philippines, where floods and landslides have killed more than a dozen people and left several others missing.
