Uganda: Coffee plantations and the bitter taste of eviction

In 2001, some 4,000 Ugandans in Mubende were forced off their land to make way for a coffee plantation owned by the Hamburg-based Neumann Coffee Group (NKG). The military tore down houses and huts but local farmers protested the land grab and took the issue to court.
