Protests have erupted across Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy removed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov in a major government reshuffle. What could the move mean for Ukraine's military and defense strategy?

Protests have erupted across Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government reshuffle removed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov after just six months in office. Demonstrators say Fedorov has been a central figure behind the military's modernization efforts and recent successes in expanding Ukraine's drone and defense capabilities.

They argue the decision to dismiss Fedorov at this stage in the war sends the wrong message to Russia. President Zelenksyy has not yet explained the decision but Ukrainian media have been reporting that there was a conflict between Fedorov and senior military heads.
