Ukrainians cope with uncertainty on Donetsk front line

DW traveled to Ukraine's occupied Donetsk region to speak with residents living under Russian aggression since 2014. After a decade of conflict, many say they remain resolved to hold on to their freedom.

When leaving isn't simple, life goes on in cities near the front line across Ukraine's Donetsk region. In peace talks, the area remains a key sticking point in efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Attention is now on Moscow, which has yet to respond to a new US-backed 20-point peace proposal.
