Ukrainians mark fourth Christmas under fire

As the Kremlin presses on with attacks over Christmas, Zelenskyy hails "new ideas" after fresh US peace talks. Ukraine has shifted its main Christmas celebration to December 25, breaking with Russian traditions.

Even under Russian strikes, marking major holidays remains important for Ukrainians. Celebrating Christmas is about continuing to live, said Petros, a war veteran who lost his leg in the fighting.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the latest peace talks went into "many details," while the Kremlin said it was still reviewing the proposals.
