The UN has warned it will take time to reverse famine in parts of Gaza and has urged Israel to open all border crossings into the Palestinian territory. Since the Israel-Hamas ceasefire took effect, aid deliveries have resumed but at far too low a volume.

The fragile Israel-Hamas ceasefire has allowed for limited aid deliveries into Gaza to resume, but the humanitarian crisis in the war-ravaged Palestinian territory isn't over.

Aid trucks rolling through reopened border crossings offer a glimmer of hope and UN officials have vowed to scale up relief but essentials remain scarce.

The United Nations' World Food Programme has so far delivered 3,000 tons of food, not nearly enough to alleviate hunger or reverse famine.

As of now, Israel is holding back on reopening the pivotal Rafah crossing, citing Hamas's failure to return the bodies of all deceased Israeli hostages as agreed in the parties' truce deal.
