Large parts of southern and eastern Germany have been experiencing extreme flooding. Bavaria, Saxony and Thüringen have been particularly hard hit and entire towns have found themselves under water. As floodwaters recede, what's left is plenty of mud - and damages.

Tens of thousands of homes have been flooded, but businesses have also been affected. At numerous companies, production has ground to a halt.
