Mom of US veteran killed in Ukraine: 'Can't appease Putin'

Seattle resident Karla Webber shares her memories of her son Andrew, a former US soldier who died fighting as a volunteer in Ukraine. She also urged the Trump administration not cede any territory to Russia in peace talks.

Nearly 100 Americans have died fighting in Ukraine as volunteers. Among them was Andrew Webber, a decorated US veteran who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023 and was killed by a Russian drone. His mother, Karla, now urges US leaders not to concede Ukrainian territory in peace talks, warning that appeasing Vladimir Putin would embolden further aggression.
