US Cancels Visits to Southeast Asia

The US Secretary of State will reportedly skip a major regional security meeting scheduled in the Philippines. Reports say that with only 18 months to go, the Bush administration is focussing largely on Iraq. Earlier this month, President Bush cancelled his scheduled visit to Singapore where he was expected to attend the upcoming ASEAN summit supposed to highlight 30 years of official ties between Washington and the forum.
