US Ebola patient treated in Berlin Charite hospital

A US doctor infected with a rare strain of Ebola is receiving treatment in Berlin. DW asked virologist Günther Schönrich how human-to-human transmission works and if Berliners are at risk.

Charite virologist Günther Schönrich said the transfer of a US doctor infected with the rare Bundibugyo Ebola strain to Berlin was due to the hospital's experience, its specialized isolation unit and the shorter transport distance from central Africa.
