EU trade ministers are busy clearing the way for talks that could lead to a landmark free trade agreement with the United States. German multinationals like industrial glass maker Schott are hoping the deal goes through. The Federation of German Industries estimates a trade deal would provide an annual economic boost on both sides of the Atlantic of some 200 billion euros.
