After four months of turmoil in the Middle East, the US and Iran have announced an initial agreement to end the war. World leaders welcome the diplomatic breakthrough, although the details of the deal remain unclear.

US President Donald Trump has signaled progress toward a preliminary agreement with Iran that could ease tensions in the region.

The framework reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting US port restrictions on Iran, and a 60 day ceasefire extending to Lebanon.

Pakistan, acting as mediator, called it a diplomatic breakthrough.

Key issues like Iran's nuclear program remain unresolved as negotiations continue.
