Musicians Daryl Hall (69) and John Oates (68) are about to celebrate another accolade in their careers as one of America's most recognized pop duos from the 1970s and 80s.

Their names will be added to Hollywood's Walk of Fame, where more than 2,500 stars embellish the pavement in one of the greatest tourist attractions in Los Angeles.

According to information given by the organizers of the event, Hall and Oates will attend the unveiling ceremony on September 2.

Changing the face of American popular music

Starting out as students in 1970, Hall and Oates combined various elements from rock, soul, folk and blues while creating a decidedly American sound.

With hits such as "Rich Girl," "Private Eyes" and "Maneater," the duo from Philadelphia quickly rose to one of the most recognized acts in the 1980s, scoring six number-one singles according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which is in charge of the Walk of Fame.

American entertainment magazine Billboard placed Hall and Oates at No. 15 on its list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time."

Hall and Oates were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003, and in 2014, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
