US Secretary of State Makes Lightning Visit to Beijing

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met Chinese President Hu Jintao and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. They discussed the economy, UN sanctions on Iran, Taiwan and the human rights situation in Sudan’s Darfur region, as well as in China itself. China has agreed to resume a human rights dialogue with the US, which was suspended in 2004.
