Buying a used car in Germany got more expensive in the last year according to an independent survey by the EurotaxSchwack company in Frankfurt. The average price for a two-year old car last fall was about €19,700 ($23,973), or two percent higher than in the spring of 2003. Used cars usually depreciate about 68.6 percent in value from their original purchase price. The survey shows that after a dip in 2000, the cost for used cars in Germany has continued to rise and will do so in the future, according to a spokesperson for EurotaxSchwack.
