Film sets from the 2017 Hollywood action movie "Kong: Skull Island" are set to be soon opened up to the public and tourists at their remote Vietnamese locations.

The former shooting location, in the mountainous northern province of Ninh Binh, includes the set of a tribal village used as a backdrop for the film's protagonists as they hide from King Kong and other monsters, the Vietnam News Agency said. As the local authorities didn't charge the film production company any fees for using the site, they were permitted to preserve the film set to attract tourists.

The site will open to the public by this coming Saturday. "Kong: Skull Island," the latest installment in the King Kong franchise, was largely shot in Vietnam last year, making it the first major Hollywood film to do so since the end of the Vietnam War.
