In 1924, Friedrich Rometsch set up a shop in Berlin as a custom coachbuilder. In 1957 he introduced the Lawrence, named after designer Bert Lawrence. Underneath its beautiful, two-tone exterior the car relied on the VW Beetle's dependable technology.
