Visiting the medieval trading metropolis Goslar

Goslar only has a population of 50,000, but it is rich in history and has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the medieval old town with its 1500 timber-framed houses, and the Europe's oldest mining shaft, Rammelsberg. Ore was mined here continuously for a thousand years.
