After much hesitation, Myanmar's military regime has declared a temporary ceasefire in the civil war, to facilitate rescue and relief efforts in the wake of a major earthquake. Kyaw Zaw, a spokesman for Myanmar's National Unity Government, told DW that the junta was "restricting" access to humanitarian aid but expressed hope that the ceasefire would allow aid to get to more people.

In the video, Mr Kyaw Zaw is misspelled as "Kywa Zaw." One of the headlines reads "Myanmar junta chief participates in Thailand" instead of "Myanmar junta chief participates in Thailand summit." DW apologizes for the errors.
