Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf resigns effective immediately

Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf is stepping down amid a scandal over the bank's sales practices. The bank said Stumpf is relinquishing CEO and chairman titles, effective immediately. Chief operating officer Tim Sloan will succeed him at the helm.
