German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has made a brief visit to Iraq where where he held talks with President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. He told them his government wants stronger economic and political ties with Baghdad. His visit was only announced today due to security concerns.
