No tourists, no stress, only two ferries a week: That is the winter pace of life for the 150 or so residents of Donousa, the most remote island in the Cyclades.

Life on Donousa, the most remote Greek island of the Lesser Cyclades, slows to a gentle rhythm in winter. Residents harvest, chat with neighbors, honor tradition and gather for karaoke. With 150 people, one doctor and a twice‑weekly ferry, the community relies on close bonds, embracing wind, sea and stillness.
