The best place for visitors to begin their tour is the Christkindelsmärik, the oldest Christmas market in France. The Christkindelsmärik first began in 1570, making it just under 500 years old. It’s located at Place Broglie in the heart of the city and other markets are grouped around it. Although Christmas markets have a particularly long tradition in central Europe, festive markets celebrating Christmas can be found all over the world.
