As we grow older, our teeth thicken and begin storing more minerals -- making them darker. Wine, coffee and tea also leave their marks. The stains are impossible to remove with a toothbrush and toothpaste. One way to get back those pearly whites is through bleaching, which is best done at a dentist's office. The procedure employs substances like hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth.
