The United Arab Emirates plays a crucial role in the bloody civil war that has been raging in Sudan. Mounting evidence shows that the UAE is arming the paramilitary RSF. But why does the West remain silent?

Evidence suggests the United Arab Emirates is supplying weapons to the Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary in Sudan accused of atrocities against civilians. The UAE denies such accusations, despite UN reports.

Analysts say Western silence stems from deep financial and security ties: the UAE invests billions in Europe and the US, buys advanced arms and is a key energy and defense partner. These links could complicate efforts by US President Donald Trump and allies to curb arms flows and broker peace.
