Every country wants to shape its own future. But Iraq is unable to do that, because it is trapped between two sworn enemies, the US and Iran. Is there a way out?

Iraq remains caught between the competing influence of Iran  and the United States , decades after the 2003 US-led invasion.

The film explores how war, corruption and powerful Iran-backed militias have weakened state institutions despite Iraq’s vast oil wealth. It traces the rise of the Tishreen protest movement, the legacy of Saddam Hussein’s fall, and the role of the "Islamic State" in reshaping Iraqi politics.

Experts argue that Iraq’s biggest challenge is sovereignty, as leaders struggle to balance foreign pressure, militia power and growing public demands for an independent future.
