After October's ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, talks are set to begin on the US-proposed international force for Gaza — potentially to demilitarize the Strip. DW looks at the mission's prospects and who might join.

Under US President Donald Trump's plan, the ISF (International Stabilization Force) would answer to a "Board of Peace" in Gaza, which he would chair — but the crucial question of who will be deployed remains unresolved.

The force would be authorized to use force if necessary, raising the prospect of direct clashes with Hamas. Israel has already rejected several potential contributors, including Turkey. The governments of countries such as Jordan and the UAE have ruled out sending troops.
