After 10 years of resistance from conservative lawmakers, the Parliament in Jakarta, Indonesia, recently passed a "sexual violence law." Activists worry that it won’t be enforced in remote areas, such as the island of Sumba, where the sinister tradition of bride kidnapping remains a reality.
