Russia is pushing to build its own satellite internet network after losing access to SpaceX's Starlink system, which had reportedly been used by Russian forces in Ukraine.

The planned constellation, called Rassvet, aims to provide communications, navigation support and connectivity from space, similar to Starlink.

But developing and deploying thousands of satellites is a massive technological and financial challenge.
